        I am a new leader in Scouting, what training do I have to undertake to qualify as a trained leader?
           
    As a Leader, you must undertake Introductory, Basic and Advanced training. These courses encompass scout method, leadership & scout craft. Following that the leaders must go through OJT programme & finally interview before being awarded with the Wood Badge. The Wood Badge is a symbol of a scouter who has completed his/her training to be a leader of scouts. It’s the start of a journey of fulfilled leadership.
             
        When & where will the training being held?
           
    Modules lesson are generally held at SSA HQ. Some of the modules are held in the weekday evenings or Saturday afternoons.
    For the residential camp, the training is being held at the Sands Training Institute at Jalan Bahtera.
           

     

        Which section would I be best suited to lead in?
           
    • Cub Scout       (9-12 yrs)
    • Scout                (12-16 yrs)
    • Venture            (15-18 yrs)
    • Rover                (18-25 yrs)
             
       

    What is the membership fee?

            There is a nominal fee of $10.00 for annual registration fees. The leaders will have to purchase their own uniform.
    Leaders have to pay for the training courses. Please refer to the training calendar for more details.
           
             
       

    What if I am unable to complete all the module sessions?

           
    Currently, you will have to join another intake to make up for the modules which you did not complete.
             
       

    Must I stay in camp throughout the duration of the residential sessions?

           
    Yes, you are required to stay throughout the camp during the training, failing which the certificate will not be issued.
             
       

    What is the maximum timeframe that I have to complete the woodbadge?

           
    Depending on your commitment. You should complete the woodbadge training scheme within 1 to 5 years
             
       

    What is a woodbadge?

           
    The woodbadge is a symbolic representation to recognize a leader who has successfully completed the training.
